Our works supplying and planting trees or transplanting specimens range from individual trees to entire landscapes. We tailor each quotation to ensure that it matches your requirements. We appreciate that many prospective clients have limited experience in purchasing trees and that our quotation fully explains our services. Our expertise in providing specimens to create a screen is second to none. We can provide all year round screens up to 12 metres in height and where space is a premium, we can plant specimens that have a width of less than 50cm. If you have your own trees, we have a fleet of tree spades, including the largest in the U.K. that can cost effectively transplant trees. If you are moving house, you do not have to leave your favourite trees and shrubs behind, we can transplant them to your new house. After completion of works we wish to leave you with a treescape that will grace your gardens for decades and to have provided you with a service that will lead you to recommend us to others. Ruskins provide services of interest to both Developers and Construction Contractors. Sites blocked or hampered by unfavourably positioned trees can often be dramatically improved by transplanting. Trees and hedges can be moved to new locations or to temporary storage on or off-site, facilitating development. Our fleet of Tree Spades includes the largest available in the UK and can cost effectively deal with trees up to ten metres high. We can transplant using rootball and crane techniques any size of tree or where access is not available for our tree spades. Additionally we have extensive commercial experience in supplying and planting new trees and shrubs which can be supplied from our own nursery or via our long established network of growers throughout Europe. As a further compliment to your development we can undertake a full range of soft landscape services including maintenance. We utilise Air Spades, to displace soil with a jet of air at 1500mph, without damage to roots or services, allowing for inspection or bypassing. All Ruskins personnel plant operators hold relevant NVQs, are safety trained and used to working in the proximity of contractors and site traffic. All staff are fully trained in the use of Ruskins equipment and CSCS certified. We offer expertise in tree planting, tree moving, landscaping and grounds maintenance. Regardless of whether we are commissioned to transplant large trees, supply and plant new specimens or to undertake the entire soft landscaping, we ensure that all works are undertaken to the highest level of quality, with the minimum amount of mess or fuss. Uniquely we offer a fleet of Tree Spades, including the UK’s largest, which can cost effectively preserve existing trees, shrubs and hedges. Alternatively, using rootball and frame techniques we can transplant any size of tree/shrub/hedge including those which are inaccessible by vehicles. Transplanting not only saves trees that would otherwise be felled but can generate savings of up to 90% compared with purchasing new tree specimens. Ruskins teams are well-equipped and can economically move trees up to ten metres in height - either into final landscape locations or into temporary holding areas. Our fleet of tree spades is impressive and, incidentally, features the largest in the U.K. We also specialise in alternative techniques for the transplanting of trees and hedges that are either outside the capabilities of conventional tree spades or in circumstances where access prohibits the use tree spade machinery. Ruskins can source any tree or shrub that is commercially grown, either from our own stocks or through our network of pan-European growers developed over almost a quarter of a century. For many landscape architects, we act as a consolidation point for orders, prior to delivery and final planting. Most courses have a fantastic tree resource of earlier plantings that provide excess stock for highly cost effective transplanting. We will visit your course, to discuss your needs and ensure that you receive the benefit of our experience. Our visit will lead to an accurate quotation and will also help ensure the correct selection of trees, that will establish quickly in their new locations. During our site visit to inspect the planting locations, we will always if the opportunity arises, point you in the direction of transplanting your existing trees as it is usually more cost effective. We also offer an Air Spade service which will remove soil from around roots to enable inspection, root pruning or to reduce soil build up, without damage.
